Garo Special Issues Index
The editors at Garo were kind of sloppy when it came to including special issues in with their regular monthly release schedule. The January, 1967, Kamui special, which reprinted the first two chapters of Kamui-den, didn't have an issue number. It was just published along side the numbered issue of that month. Not a big deal, unless you're trying to figure out how to catalog them. Then again, if you didn't know that a special issue had come out in a given month, you'd never be able to tell just by looking at random magazines on the used bookstore shelves.Then the Yoshiharu Tsuge special came out as issue #47, which made things a little easier. Not that it helped any knowing that #47 was missing if no one ever sold their copy back to the bookstores. But, at least things got easier regarding cataloging. Same with the Yuu Takita special, #59. And whatever the special was for #51, and the Nagashima special, #63. Next we encounter #67. Not only is this the number used for the November, 1969 issue, but it's also the number for the Susumu Katsumata special that had come out in October. Kind of have to assume that the editors had wanted to use #68 for the regular November issue.
Anyway... The reason that the special issues have been given their own page here is that it's easier to catalog them this way. Additionally, I don't have to worry about trying to always explain the weird numbering system.
