------------------------------------------------

Kory Merritt's Lost Side of Suburbia webcomic is hosted on GoComics, which has strips archived back to Feb. 22, 2010. The span includes 5 stories - The Heckbender; League of Astounding Vermin; No Room, No Story; Derring-Do Dan; and, The Bogey. Because The Bogey is so huge, it rates its own set of files. I'm clumping the first four titles together here primarily for my own convenience. This is an unauthorized fan site, so all of the mistakes here are mine and mine alone. If you see an error, or think there's an omission, please let me know so I can correct it.

Kory likes creating monsters for his stories, as well as ice cream flavors and place names. Additionally, he intersperses in-jokes, shout-outs and running gags in with all of the horror. It may be impossible to list them all here, but I'm going to try.

Locations

The League of Astonishing Vermin takes place in Britain, and The Bogey seems to be in the Ohio area all the way up to Lake Erie. The rest of the stories revolve around the fictional town of Brockleport and its environs. Brockleport is large enough to have at least one general store, and a community college.
2010/02/27 Halfrock Swamp - so-called because of a large boulder that looks like half a rock. The swamp contains a regular swamp area, but if you go deeper in, it becomes the domain of the West Bleekport Gang, the Heckbender and other creatures.
2010/08/23 Cankerbury Inn, which is in Halfrock Swamp.
2010/09/05 The Slynderfell Factory is identified as being "in-town" in Virginia's tale, but it seems to be more rural. In The Bogey, Bill Watterson's cat, Sphynx, gets lost and encounters the factory after wandering for a couple days. The Watterson's live a day's walk or so from the outskirts of Rufus' and Biff's town.
2010/09/17 The Sineligo Sea is the setting for the lanky man's story in No Story, No Room, and for Dan's selkie tale in Derring-Do Dan.
2010/10/14 The Old Whisple Tree is at the front of the Bleekport Gang's house in the heart of the Halfrock Swamp.
2010/10/30 The Gummelhaven Marsh is within the swamp, and is the location of the Fear'im Gnott that is in the way of the treasure chest Jonathan York has to recover in the lair of the Terraqueenpin and Terrakingpin.
2010/11/15 Also within the swamp, near the marsh, is the Keep of Sym-Iy-Kro, the necromancer.
2010/12/07 Between Cankerbury Inn and Brockleport is Springshire.
2011/01/18 The Trekkledoon Wastes are the home of Skreepit Gulch, a nasty, crime-filled place that becomes the eventual home of the King and Queen of Wonderdum. The Grey Nugget saloon is in Skreepit Gulch.
2011/01/26 The Mudpup Inn and Tavern is run by Rosie Thornsuckle. I think to the southeast are the estuaries of the Sineligo Sea, where the West Bleekport Gang are taking the Queen of the Ermines.
2011/03/18 Eastern Ocean has the Amorray Sound, where Derring-Do Dan would sail the Sand Flea.
2011/04/21 To the north are the Muttergor Mountains and Tyranno Tundra, home of the zealorapters and Big Tom Thunderclump.
2011/06/01 The Kingdom of Wonderdum is kind of centrally located, in that three of Derring-Do Dan's stories all intersect, with the weasels near Halfrock Swamp, the selkie in Amorray Sound, and the zealoraptors of Muttergor all being within easy reach.
