Akira Maruyama

Akira Maruyama was the editor at Kodansha Publishing, and responsible for Shojo Club magazine. He's the one who had asked Akatsuka and Ishinomori to take on some of Tetsuya Chiba's work after Chiba had badly cut his hand on a knife, and he'd also brought Eiko Mizuno to work at Tokiwa. MastersofManga claims to have interviewed Akira and will post that eventually. Akira was the only non-artist invited to the Tokiwa Manor reunion party in 1981. He contributed a 10-page article about the artists.
