About Akihiro Itou

Very little information is available regarding Akihiro Itou in the Japanese wiki, and the English wiki is nothing more than an abbreviated translation of the Japanese one. What is given is his birth place of Nagoya, in Akita Prefecture, and a bibliography of his novels (no separate entries for his short stories).

When he was first starting out in the 1980's, he worked under the pen name Bren-303, drawing manga for the softcore porn magazine Lemon People. Some of the stories from this period were collected as "Take the B Studio". A later release, called "Take the B Studio (Complete)" came out at the end of 2010, but I don't know how much of an overlap there is between the two books.

Around the spring of 2009, he became ill, details not given, and stopped writing. Wilderness and Geobreeders were put on hold, but the last volume of each didn't get published until 2010. There's a good chance that Geobreeders, at least, was wrapped up. The hint is that in all of the previous volumes, the last page says "this volume ended, continued in the next volume", while volume 16 simply says "end of volume 16". I haven't seen volume 7 for Wilderness yet, so I don't know about that one. In any event, I haven't seen any new chapters from him for either title recently.
