Note that book 3 has not come out yet.  The below summaries are
based on the chapters that appeared in Afternoon magazine.

Chapter 19

Released: 4/99 (Road to Tokyo?)
Cover page:
There are a bunch of flying objects around Exaxxion: JSDF, TV station choppers, alien UFOs, etc.

Exaxxion opens up with two 460mm bursts, one of the two ejected casings bounces off the surface of the sea and takes out one of the choppers. The aliens report the firing, and track the two shots to Shinjuku, and to the security building.

The sentry robot demands that Reiko disarm, or it will shoot and kill Akane. Reiko complies with its demand. And yes, she has nothing else under her suit.

The alarm in the building sounds (level A-7). The two shots hit and undercut the building. The upper section starts to tip over, and there is confusion all around. Reiko is able to quickly retransform and disarm the robot. She informs Akane that she is not hurt because of the suit's self-healing devices.

Standing beside broken windows, Reiko extends two wings from the back of the suit, then tugs Akane underneath her to glide out of the building. A Lt. jr grade in lab clothes fires a special round from a special gun, and hits Akane in the leg. The alien's assistant reports that they are moving in to recapture the two escapees, but the Lt. say they should wait a bit.

The wind dies down, so Reiko glides to the top of another building. They move inside, while a UFO tracks their movement.

Housuke's assistants report that Reiko is at Nakano, and Houichi is 4km away at Kawasaki Bay. Housuke tells Houichi to go ashore in Tokyo to pick them up.

Chapter 20

Released: 5/99 (Title not recorded)
Cover page:
Akane sits on a bench; Reiko kneels in front of her, holding her leg high to suck out the bullet.

(Ping says: I have a problem with the second panel. The thing Reiko sucks out looks like an empty cartridge w/o any deformation, while the bullet the alien had shown in the previous chapter is just like a regular 45 slug and case. I guess Sonoda meant to show the head of the bullet had disappeared to do its work, but shouldn't the cartridge have been ejected from the gun? Did Sonoda mean to say that aliens use caseless ammo?)

JSDF and American military (tanks and choppers, hard to tell which one is which) line up by the dock against Exaxxion. The military orders all of the media choppers to leave the vicinity - the pictures will be taken by the military UFOs. People are watching the live pictures around the city.

At the building Reiko and Akane landed on, UFOs circle the top ala the end of Evangelion. Police vans park in front of the entry. The aliens are securing the building; anyone shown the slightest resistance are killed. The Black Ball robots conduct a floor by floor, and one finally reaches the room Reiko and Akane are in. Reiko is waiting with sword as hand... (well, sword in hand just doesn't "cut" it? :)

A Black Ball falls out from the 5th floor of the south side of the building, and crashes on top of one of the vans. The alien leader orders the armored car forward and the rest of the vehicles back off. Sentry robots and Black Balls crash into the room where the one robot had fallen out... only to find another damaged Black Ball. After confirming that there was only one Black Ball in that sector (#75), the captain turns around to order the securing of the robot on top of the van, only to find the van is gone.

Reiko and Akane are in the van driving down the street, now both sporting alien ears and eyes. Reiko is having a bad case of neck pain, from having transformed into a 70cm diameter ball. Reiko tells Akane that it is impossible to escape by car because all the roads are blocked. They have to wait for Houichi to pick them up.

Houichi sideswipes many tanks along side the dock with Exaxxion's right arm. Strangely, the tanks are not shooting back....

Chapter 21

Released: 6/99 (Horror Attacking From The Air?)
Cover page:
Alien UFOs hovering in the air

The alien UFOs start to attack the tanks and choppers.

Housuke¹s assistants tell him that they have tapped into the alien’s communication signals in that area, and have completed decoding them. Housuke promises to "reward" them tonight. The women are very happy.

The aliens start to broadcast pictures of the battle, 2 minutes delayed, with editing to make it look like Exaxxion had destroyed the tanks and choppers.

Housuke’s assistants counter by immediately broadcasting the real footage over the airwaves. The aliens are forced to manually shut down the transmitters.

Housuke tells Houichi to prepare to "fall" onto the target area to rescue Reiko and Akane. Housuke orders the activation of the gravity system, and Exaxxion starts to "fall" into the sky.

(The pictures are reversed, so the robot is going downward with the sea on top.)

Chapter 22

Chapter 22 7/99 (Isaka Can Control Gravity!?)
Cover page:
A naked Isaka upside down falling into the air

After falling three thousand up, Housuke¹s assistants switch the gravity direction so that Exaxxion travels sideways and down toward the target area. The giant robot is also dragging with it some hundreds of thousands of tons of water, sand and tanks.

On the way to the target area, Exaxxion happens to crash through a bridge, cutting it in half. (It’s similar to the Golden Gate bridge, but is a double decker with the JR train line running in the bottom deck.) A train loaded with people swooshes down into Tokyo Bay.

Exaxxion slams down into a warehouse area, destroying containers and tanks as it glides in. People in the city wonder if an earthquake has occurred. In the shopping center "Anschu’tz Part II" (in English), Reiko announces that shopping is over. She pays for her purchases with a "GSC" credit card. (It has a picture of her in alien disguise.)

Reiko and Akane walk out of the building. Akane wonders if she can interview Housuke. Reiko says while it is impossible now, it shouldn¹t be a problem later since Akane will be part of the family - after they escape she can marry Houichi. Akane is embarrassed and claims that she is only 15. Reiko "guarantees" that as Houichi’s mother, she knows her son loves Akane, and adds that the age/marriage law won’t be a problem when Exaxxion conquers the Earth.

Housuke’s assistants show Exaxxion going down Shinjuku along the JR line, with some attack-type UFOs closing in fast. Engagement will be in 18 seconds. At the same time, Houichi tells Isaka to minimize "collateral damage" (unlikely, since each step Exaxxion takes makes a crater wider than the street.)

Chapter 23

Released: 8/99 (Peacemaker or Destroyer?)
Cover page:
Exaxxion walking down the street.

Exaxxion strolls down the street, taking out buses and carloads of people.

2 of the 6 UFOs hover over Exaxxion, lowering some kind of tentacle wires which wrap around Exaxxion’s antenna ears. Houichi tells Isaka to send a surge back, and she does. The surge is thousands of time stronger than that of the aliens. In the nearby buildings, all the computers are damaged, and one operator develops a nose bleed and a Einstein haircut. In addition, the UFOs start crashing into the buildings.

Isaka tells Houichi that there is an "Earthling Processing Factory" 2 km away at 2 o¹clock. Houichi takes it out with Exaxxion’s 460mm cannon. Houichi doesn’t appreciate the aliens using people for fertilizer.

Isaka then tells Houichi that Reiko and Akane are 1km away - at 11 o¹clock - on top of a building. Isaka flies out of Exaxxion in bike form, meets the girl and woman as a human, envelops both of them and retransforms back into the bike to fly back to Exaxxion.

The cockpit inside Exaxxion suddenly becomes very crowded. Reiko is sitting on the lap of Houichi, and Akane is bending over the control panel in front of the boy, showing everything under the hospital gown.

The alien who shot Akane in a previous chapter, after confirming that the escapees have entered the robot, presses a button on a remote control.

Thin wire tentacles suddenly emerge from Akane’s leg wound.

Chapter 24

Released: 9/99 (I will protect you, or protect me?)
Cover page:
Little Akane in elementary school uniform, holding a camera.

Akane is in great pain as wires shoot out of her body everywhere, tapping into the control panel and causing error messages on the displays (what do you expect from a windows-based system?) Reiko realizes there must be some of the bullet left in Akane’s body. Isaka tells them that the electronic components inside Akane’s body are trying to take over Exaxxion. Houichi tries to pull Akane away from the wire, but she is in too much pain for that to happen. Someone adds that cutting the wires mean certain death for Akane.

Suddenly, Exaxxion points its right hand 460mm at its own head and fires. The errors in the OS are approaching a dangerously high level.

Housuke orders Houichi and Reiko to leave Exaxxion right away. Isaka takes off in bike-form despite the complaints from Houichi and Reiko. Neither Kanou wishes to abandon Akane. Isaka informs them that Akane is not alone; part of the android is still on Exaxxion.

Akane sees a little Isaka (as big as the control stick) telling her that she will help her. Isaka will inject something into her body to fight the enemy. Akane loses consciousness.

The alien operators notice that the possession percentage within Akane is getting lower instead of higher, and they wonder if Earth has the technology to counter theirs.

Isaka tells Akane to wake up and she does so within a virtual reality space. Isaka is holding a light saber kind of like Darth Maul’s from Star Wars, The Phantom Menace. Isaka tells Akane that since she has more micromachines than the enemy does, defeating and chasing out the enemy from Akane’s body is just a matter of time.

One of the control room staff says that the possession percentages continue to get lower. A command is given to turn from attack to defense of the host as priority. Akane’s naked body in virtual reality begins to disappear…

Chapter 25

Released: 11/99 (Akane o Sukue!!) (Rescue Akane!!)
Cover page:
Isaka extending her fingers to pin Akane to the wall by her neck.

Isaka's extended fingers pin Akane to the wall by her neck.  She yells for help and Isaka replies that that's what she is here for.  The android has entered the girl's body in order to protect her from the virus.  Isaka leans forward and Akane protests that she's saving her first kiss.  Isaka says "don't worry" and merges with Akane's consciousness.  They "synchronize".  The result is a mixing up of both of their memories.  For Akane, it's the first time she formally met Houichi - three boys had been terrorizing her and trying to destroy her camcorder.  Houichi rushed in and beat up the bullies.  He then repaired her camcorder (the monitor was ruined, but everything else worked), showing that he is indeed Housuke's grandson.  Houichi's only real interest is in preparing himself for the invasion from the Faldians, as predicted by his grandfather's book.  When Akane mistakes Houichi's body language (he'd tried to illustrate how much of a pervert Housuke is), Houichi gets embarrassed and leaves.  Akane has a major crush on the boy and would gladly go to bed with him.

As for Isaka, her first memory is of the time when she was activated and Ryouko Tanegashima introduced herself.  Housuke gave her the gunner glove and tasked her with protecting Houichi.  Then, Akane and Isaka both witness their first meeting from each other's point of view.  Their identities get confused (am I Akane Minagata or Isaka Hino?)  Isaka takes control and tells the girl that she's using her micromachines to take over Akane's body and fight off the virus.

Back in the real world, Housuke is told that Houichi is coming in for his final approach.  He orders the androids to go to plan "S".  Outside, the Faldian air force has fliers circling the Exaxxion base.  The pilots are commanded to shoot at the first opportunity.  A pillar starts to spring up out of the ground and the fliers shoot at it with lasers.  The beams are easily deflected, and the pillar rams into one of the ships - destroying it.  The pillar then emits a pulse that knocks the remaining fliers out of the sky.

The Isaka-ship enters the base and Housuke rushes to greet his relatives.  He's overjoyed to see Reiko after so many years.  But suddenly Houichi yells "Gun Set" and sticks the 50mm in the old man's face.

Chapter 26

Released: 12/99 (Ima, akasareru Kanouke no himitsu!!)  (Now, the Kanou Family's Secret is Revealed!!)
Cover page:
Houichi aiming his gun at his grandfather, as Reiko and Isaka look on.

Housuke comments on the chilly greeting, but the boy demands that his grandfather do SOMETHING to save Akane (which is out of Housuke's control - everything is up to Isaka.)  The old man actually doesn't care if Akane is saved, since Reiko is now safe.  Besides, she's just a bit of pretty fluff; there's lots of tail left for the boy to chase.  Reiko yells out for the boy to stop this since Housuke is really Houichi's father.  Houichi asks how this could be, because he clearly remembers his father - Houji - from when he was a kid.  But the old man says that the reality is that Houji died during the testing of the gunner suit.  Houichi goes insane and pulls the trigger.  Housuke just grins as the gun clicks away harmlessly.  The old man explains that everything he's built contains safety devices to prevent them from being used against them.  He tells the suit to put the boy to sleep to allow him to calm down a bit.  Houichi swears, then collapses.  Reiko calls out "Houichi!"

Meanwhile, in the ruins of the city, two Faldian fliers use counter-intelligence attacks on Exaxxion's antenna fins, and a third attempts to enter the robot's head hatch.  In the Faldian control center, the operators say they've tracked the Exaxxion pilot back to his base, where he'd gone inside.  The floor manager - Bafosu - sets up his plans for infiltrating the robot, thinking that Ryama's virus has failed to take over Akane.  Ryama and Zarueru enter the room, with Ryama saying that the virus hasn't failed yet.  Because his old building has been destroyed, Ryama has come over to Bafosu's center to continue trying to contact the virus with Bafosu's equipment.  Ryama introduces Zarueru, then states that his virus is still busy doing its work "hacking" the girl's body, and will succeed within 20 hours.  One of the female operators asks where the girl is, since they can't detect anyone inside the robot.  She's told that their victim must have left with the pilot.  The operator is then instructed to look at the telemetry data - she reports the recorded weights of the people that went in to, and out of, the robot - with the final analysis being that the masses don't add up.  Ryama tells the others that his virus' victim is named Akane Hino.  He asks if his nanomachines may be screwing up Bafosu's readings.  Bafosu wants to keep trying to break into the robot, then objects to being overruled by his rival.  But, the General has ordered that Ryama's virus gets first shot at trying to control Akane so as to take over the robot from the inside.

In space, at the hyper gate, a foreign ship has docked on the outer skin.  Some distance away, an explosion rips through the Gate's hull.  The Gate's control personnel report that Colonel Frankie has made his way from entrance 41.  The Gate's commander panics and tries to block off access to the XXX rooms, but his passwords have been overridden by someone with a higher access key.  Looks like the the home planet has sent someone really powerful to infiltrate the Gate's secrets.  He tries to contact the staff in Area 4, but they've all been killed already.  The infiltrators reach the X room and get what they're after.  They return to their ship and escape just as the Gate's balancing system collapses on itself.  Destroyed, the Gate disappears into hyper space.  Inside the attack ship, the leader - a female Faldian with a scar along her left eye - orders that Sheska be informed of their success.  (When they refer to the XXX unit, they keep saying "Raun Meitaru".)

Chapter 27

Released: 01/00 (Atashi ni makasete!)  (Have Faith in Me!)
Cover page:
A chan-style Isaka holding Akane's hand and pointing off to the right.

Housuke is sitting down with his androids, as Reiko and Ryouko serve nabe (a beef and veggie soup).  Reiko demands to know what had really happened to her husband.  Turns out that Ryouko is the only android that had existed back then, and was only 16 at the time.  Houji was wearing the gunner suit during a routine test when he went crazy and started tearing his way out of the reinforced room to attack Housuke.  That morning, Reiko had told him of her affair with his father.  Housuke and Houji always competed against each other to see who was better, which had given Houji a major complex.  But to find out that he was not Houichi's father had sent him over the edge.  Housuke cut the cable to the suit, but it ran on residual power long enough for Houji to reach Housuke, grab a forklift and prepare to kill his father with it.  When the suit failed, Houji became a grease spot on the floor.  At the end of the story, all of the women look stunned.  The old man berates them for reacting to news that is several years old.  They should celebrate the fact that Houichi and Reiko are back unharmed, and eat the delicious nabe.

Houichi is locked in a room, switching channels on the TV.  Several news stations report on the carnage caused by Exaxxion.  One reporter on the scene points out the river of blood flowing from a nearby crushed bus.  A TV talk show even features commentary on the terroristic attacks by the robot against the peace-loving Faldians.  In disgust, the boy throws the remote away and says "I'm a hero, huh...?"  Isaka comes in and asks Houichi to join her in eating nabe.  He objects, calling his grandfather names, and saying that everything around him - Isaka, Exaxxion, the suit - all belong to the old man.  And what's happened so far?  Akane's in danger, countless people have been killed, and Houichi's vision of becoming a hero has turned into a nightmare.  Isaka replies that a simulation run on a sample of the virus shows that Akane can be saved inside 16 hours, but that the boy has to take an active part to help ensure that the girl will be ok.  Houichi agrees, stating that he refuses to fight any more after this.  Isaka has no problems with his ultimatum.

Chapter 28

Released: 02/00 (Kono hijoji ni shoppingu ... su ka?)  (Huh?  During this Emergency, we're going to go Shopping?)
Cover page:
Isaka, Houichi and two of the androids board a subway car.

Houichi, Isaka, Noriko and a third android board a car from a subway platform.  As they ride towards Houichi's school, the androids explain that Housuke used his company to create an electronic shielding system to hide the secret subway system being constructed under the city.  The girls have used the train to stock up supplies for the base, and to work at part-time jobs.  The train stops at secret platforms in the basements of Housuke's buildings.  Houichi wants to rescue Akane right away, which makes the lascivious machines ask him if he likes her, and/or has other girl friends.  Further, why does he want to stop at the school first?  He blushes as they press their breasts against his arms.  He asks if anyone else can use Exaxxion, should he stop piloting it.  Noriko answers that Housuke created the robot so that it could only be run by Houichi.  The boy looks stunned at this, and the other android congratulates Noriko's quick thinking.

At the school, Houichi uses the gunner suit to destroy all of the enemy robots in the area.  Two Faldian soldiers launch missiles at him, then quickly develop big holes in their bodies due to getting hit by 50mm rounds.

Houichi reveals himself, as the suit's built-in mike is routed to the school's PA system.  Houichi says that if he doesn't fight, Earth will be conquered.  If he does fight, then countless innocent people will be killed anyway.  He asks his classmates for their answer as to what to do.  He also wonders if this is part of his grandfather's plans.
